The location of this project is a very prominent one and so we had to make sure we not only impressed our client, but also kept to our deadlines as this site would be in constant view of our clients, their neighbours and the general public. The project called for external Colt Solar Shading Louvred Screens mounted onto powder coated steel support frames and so would be extremely visible and as such, had to be visually appealing as well as practical.

The ‘Solar C’ louvre system is a fixed external solar shading system that can also be used as a dimensionally flexible, highly effective, screening system. Extruded aluminium louvre blades are attached to extruded aluminium box section rafters

The Solar C blade is designed to be particularly effective at controlling solar heat gain while allowing a greater proportion of diffused light through the blade

Colt E-Series ESC shallow section louvres for the Office Development basement louvres

The louvre system is attached to the building structure with extruded aluminium bracing struts and brackets and or bespoke structural framing where required

The proposal offered is for a fixed bladed system. We are preparing a proposal for an electrically operated system and are waiting for the design from Colt International

The Colt Solarfin system comprises a series of extruded aluminium aerofoil section fins mounted in between a suitable support members/ frame. Colt Solarfin Aerofoil sections, mullion and support framing are manufactured from extruded aluminium alloy 6063 T6
