Introduction

The AWL is designed as a Mechanical Smoke extraction unit which is mounted vertically.

Should fire conditions occur, the unit will automatically open to provide an almost unrestricted exhaust area.

Features and Benefits:

  1. The Robertson AWL is a fully controllable multi louvre type.

  2. Each ventilator is to be fitted with a failsafe 24V DC or 230V ac Belimo or equivalent actuator.

  3. Each unit will be equipped with an overriding, back-up, fusible link connection mechanism. Once the fusible link parts the ventilator blades are to rotate to the open position where they are to be held positively. The overriding back-up fusible link connection mechanism is to incorporate an approved soldered link.

  4. The Robertson clear opening, fully controllable multi louvre type AWL, has been specifically designed for the ventilation market combining the functionality of a weather louvre and a motorised control damper into a single ascetically pleasing component.

  5. The ventilators are to be manufactured with galvanised steel base and bodies with the louvre blades being manufactured from mill finish aluminium.

  6. The ventilators are to be painted on their external surfaces to match the surrounding roof sheeting.

  7. Pivot pins, screws, washers and other fixing components are manufactured in various compatible corrosion resistant materials, normally aluminium or stainless steel. Pivots are bushed with nylon to reduce the friction and obviate lubrication.

  8. The outer body of the louvre is assembled flush butt welded sections to provide the main frame with means to attach the aluminium blades, operable linkages and powered actuator.

  9. The louvre blades and ears are pressed formed in one piece. When in operation, the louvres serve to regulate the flow of air passing through the ventilator to prevent the entry of water when closed.

  10. The AWL is powder coated to the RAL range of colours available in to the South African market.
